About.

I am a self-taught artist working with acrylic on canvas. After many years as an optician, I consciously chose to make space for a different way of seeing. What once started as a professional focus on vision gradually evolved into a deeper fascination with observation, light and lived experience.
My work is strongly inspired by New York City, a place I visit frequently and document through my own photography. These images form the starting point of my paintings. I do not use New York as a backdrop, but as an experience: the street, the neighbourhood, the rhythm of the city and its social contrasts shape the atmosphere of my work.
I am drawn to moments that often go unnoticed — a terrace in a park, a façade in Harlem, graffiti in Brooklyn, a street vendor on West Broadway. In my paintings, stillness and movement coexist, as do urgency and reflection. I translate this tension into layered compositions and a distinctive use of colour.
I paint cities as I experience them: attentively, from within the street, and with respect for the stories they carry.

The paintings are done with acrylic on canvas.
